The real voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes. - Marcel Proust

iPad Pup

I recently got an iPad and as you can see, I'm playing around with the painting apps. This was done with an app called ArtRage. Still a lot to learn, and while it's not an end in itself, it seems a quick way to do sketches and play with color.  It's not as precise as a paintbrush, of course, since it's all done on the touchpad. How long has it been since *you* have finger-painted?  This is much less messy, of course!

Some late Christmas prezzies

I was working so much in November and December I didn't have much spare time for Christmas presents.  But here are a few I found time for:

For Steve, a bonsai pine tree, known to promote peace and harmony (I thought he might need them both at the time):

For Latonia, who got us all hooked on Gigi's Cupcakes, and who deserves her very own gold star:

For Lisl, who spent many South African evenings on conference calls to the US, and who was no doubt dreaming of this instead:

This is a Cattleya orchid, the national flower of Columbia, for Angelica, our own Columbian flower:

Last but certainly not least, a poppy for Amanda -- a flower symbolizing peace, which she was very good at keeping.  And because I didn't think a cattle prod would make a good painting (LOL, just kidding Amanda!).
